WHO warns of fake diabetes and weight loss drugs

The World Health Organization (WHO) this Thursday issued a warning about counterfeit semaglutide, a medication used to treat type 2 diabetes and weight loss.

According to WHO, the warning concerns three counterfeit batches of products from the semaglutide class (specific brand name Ozempic ) that were detected in Brazil in October 2023, in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland in October 2023, and in the United States in December 2023.
