The Starmus festival is “finally” returning to the Canary Islands after four festivals outside the islands.

On Tuesday it was announced that the eighth edition will take place in La Palma, and at the presentation, Canary Islands President Fernando Clavijo admitted that it had been difficult to bring Starmus back to the islands and that everything possible would be done to ensure that it did not appear again.

Migdalia Machin, Minister of Universities, Science, Innovation and Culture, said that Starmus is about music and science, but it also has the potential to turn La Palma into an epicenter of knowledge.

Garik Israelyan noted that “finally” the festival is returning to the Canary Islands and said that the international trip went “very well”, but that the idea of Starmus was born in La Palma on the occasion of the opening of the Grand Telescope of the Canary Islands (GTC).
